Shamir Lenses

Our lens technology is largely made up of Shamir lenses. Shamir's progressive lenses are a recognized world leader in custom-designed technology for life improvement, fashion, performance sports, occupational single vision, and progressive lenses. Their deep understanding and desire to address basic human pains and requirements are clearly reflected in their truly diverse range of age and task-specific clear and sunglass lenses, which make reading, computer and handheld digital device use, sports and urban life, easier and more comfortable than ever.

Single Vision

Shamir Single vision lenses provide customers a clear, stable, and comfortable visual experience precisely where they require it. Our Single vision lenses offer the personal fit customers need in order to experience the broadest possible fields of clear vision, with lenses custom designed as per individual prescriptions.

Autograph Lens 3

Developed on the basis of precise measurement of individual prescriptions and simulation of perceived, real-world viewing fields, Autograph III™ delivers sharp, clear vision, with seamless gradation across all vision zones. It adapts the lens to your prescription so that whether you are near or far-sighted, you see with high visual acuity. This enables you to focus on any task throughout the day: Whether driving, cooking, playing sport, watching TV or relaxing on their laptop just before bed.

Who it's for:

Eyeglass wearers experiencing difficulty reading small print, focusing on nearby objects, or suffering from eyestrain and headaches, and demanding premium lenses that optimally accommodate any individual prescription.

Relax Lenses

As its name implies, Shamir Relax™ provides relief and helps eyeglass wearers do exactly that – relax, and enjoy greatly minimized eye dryness and fatigue, tearing, headaches and blurry vision at the end of long days in front of computer and digital device screens.

Who it's for:
Anyone, with or without binocular vision issues, who experience eyestrain or end-of-day eye fatigue.

Golf Lenses

Shamir Golf™ is a Freeform® lens designed to ensure you experience your perfect game. Unlike standard progressives, the three vision zones are specifically tailored to the needs of golfers to maximize viewing: the scorecard in your hand, the ball at your feet and the green in the distance. Shamir Golf™ provides sharp focus without distortion in these three crucial areas. And before we forget, it’s the first Golf lens designed with a stable mid-range zone to ensure the ball on the ground can be seen clearly so you will enjoy more accuracy whether driving from the tee or using irons on the fairway.

Who it's for:

Avid golfers who need clear vision that doesn’t disrupt their focus, or their game.

Attitude Lenses

Shamir Attitude® III – Fashion delivers clear and distortion-free, prescription-personalized visual experience, specifically in far vision zones, with an expanded peripheral viewing field across even the largest of curved frames. The lens additionally covers the intermediate vision zones required in modern lifestyles involving frequent use of digital devices, and helps reduce the need to tilt one’s head forward or back, or lower or raise nearby objects to achieve convenient viewing.

Who it's for:
Sunglass wearers wishing to enjoy the widest and most distortion-free vision outdoors, even with large and curved sunglass frames.

Work Lenses

In the modern workplace, we are constantly moving from working on our screens to meetings in open space office environments. This can lead to eye strain, vision problems, and discomfort. Shamir WorkSpace™ advanced lenses provide an optimal visual and ergonomic experience for mid-distance and near viewing office environments. Offering a greater depth of field, up to 10 ft, this lens design allows movement within the workspace and sharp vision, whether the required focus is on the desk or a colleague across the room.

Who it's for:

Those who need to focus on both mid-distance and near viewing when in an office or other workspace environment.

Lens Technology

Shamir Blue

Shamir Blue Zero™ is a unique polymer formula-based lens material featuring built-in blue light protection, which effectively absorbs UV and HEV (High Energy Visible) light. In addition to blocking just the right amount of blue light to keep eyes healthy, Shamir Blue Zero™ lenses maintain contrast sensitivity, ensuring high visual clarity and color perception.

Who it's for: Prescription or plano lens eyeglass wearers of any age!

Single Vision Lenses

They are most often recommended for people who are either nearsighted (myopia) or farsighted (hyperopia) and who need glasses for a specific activity, such as driving or reading.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses are multifocal lenses that can correct a patient’s vision at different working distances, ranging from far distance to reading distance. However, rather than designating different areas on the lenses for different distances with visible lines separating them, progressive lenses have a gradual change so that the wearer can smoothly transition from one lens power to another.

Computer Lenses

Computer lenses are prescription lenses that are specifically designed to be worn when doing computer work. This is because they place the optimum lens power for viewing your computer screen exactly where you need it – which is closer than intermediate vision, but further away than reading material is usually held. Wearing computer lenses can significantly reduce the negative effects caused by the high visual demands of computer work, including blurred vision, redness, dry eyes, double vision and dizziness.

Sun Reactive Lenses

Also known as photochromic lenses, sun reactive lenses are a special type of lens that darken when in the sunlight and lighten when in softer light or the dark. This versatility gives the wearer the convenience of being able to move between different environments without needing to change their glasses. This makes them extremely cost effective and prevent the wearer from needing to take multiple pairs of glasses out with them. Sun Reactive lenses also filter out many of the harmful UV rays that are emitted from the sun, helping to keep eyes healthy too. They are ideal for people who spend a lot of time going between inside and outside, or who work outside in varying weather conditions.

Polarized Lenses

Polarized lenses are used to reduce eyestrain and improve the quality of vision in patients on especially sunny days, making them ideal for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors. They can do this because they have a special filter that blocks some of the light from passing through the lens. Vertical light is allowed to pass through, while horizontal light, such as that which bounces off of water and can be blinding, is blocked. Polarized lenses are most often used in sunglasses since they are worn outdoors, and the wearer also needs to protect their eyes from UV damage.

SHAWLENS

SHAWLENS (designed specifically for patients going through vision therapy) - Creating lenses that take into account how both eyes work together is not an easy task. The math is complex in a purely theoretically environment but when you factor in other variables like frame dimensions, the position of the glasses on an individual person's face and the limits that lens manufacturing and optics place, it’s no wonder why no one has done this before. That’s what makes the SHAW lens unique. The SHAW lens process uses a patent-pending method to accurately model eye rotation in order to predict distortions caused by eye glasses. We then use that information to design a lens that reduces or eliminates the distortion other lenses can cause.
